About
Money for treatment. Knowledge for families. A voice in the room.
PatientAid International raises money in the United States and moves it to patients who cannot meet the costs that sit around their treatment.
Why it exists
A diagnosis arrives with a bill that the diagnosis does not describe. Transfusions repeat. Medication is monthly and indefinite. Diagnostics are paid before they are read. Travel to a centre that can treat the condition is paid by the family, every time. For patients with thalassaemia, cancer, renal failure and other chronic and life-threatening conditions, these are the costs that decide whether treatment continues.
How it works
We raise charitable funds from individual and institutional donors. We do not deliver care ourselves. Money is disbursed as programme grants to partner hospitals and patient-support organisations that already treat these patients, and to vendors supplying medical and educational materials. That keeps the organisation small and puts the money next to existing clinical capacity rather than duplicating it.
Governance
